The German edition published to date information about the new generation of crossover the Tiguan , whose debut will be held September 17 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Most importantly – the new “Tiguan” abandon PQ35 platform in favor of proprietary modular MQB architecture. As a result, the crossover will get a more spacious interior, and it will be easier and more economical.
The overall length of the car, in turn, will be increased by 5 centimeters and the wheelbase add 8 cm.
Buyers who need more space will be able to purchase a seven-seat Tiguan XL, but not earlier than . This version will reach 4.75 meters in length and its wheelbase is comparable in size to the base Passat saloon – 2.79 meters.
The range of engines will include five petrol and four diesel engines – 1.4-liter and 2-TSI with 125 to 220 hp, as well as 1.6- and 2-liter the TDI, developing 120 and 240 hp respectively.
Basic settings will be offered with front-wheel drive and more powerful units will have all-wheel drive system as standard.
The list of safety systems will function warning of unintentional leaving the selected lanes, parking assistant and radar collision avoidance system.
In addition, a set of built-in crossover will equip the mobile Internet, the TomTom navigation system, head-up display, large touch screen, and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
And finally, the 2018-2019 Volkswagen plans to launch the third version of the Tiguan Coupe with more dynamic suspension, premium interior and powerful engine, developing 300+ horsepower.
