Following the publication of the first official photos, 2018-2019 Acura introduced its new crossover to the public at New York Auto Show. The model has changed the status of the concept and is now a serial version of the car, made in accordance with the new design strategy «Aero Sculpture», which means the front part of the angular, sloping roof and curved lines aft body.
The crossover also received headlights in «Jewel Eye» corporate style, chrome accents and a spoiler on the tailgate.
The interior design is executed in savoir-faire, but not without elements inherent in the premium brand cars – leather seats and trim with metallic elements and inserts of wood. Also in the cabin reveals an improved audio system and easy access to the third row passengers «One-Touch Walk-In», which automatically adds and moves the seat forward. The new crossover MDX received two digital displays, which reduced the number of buttons on the center console. Also optionally available climate control seats, entertainment multimedia system for the second row with a 9- or 16.2-inch display.
The heart of the new “2018-2019 Acura” became the 3.5-liter V6 engine developing 290 hp and 362 Nm of maximum torque. The unit is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, which can be paired with an optional all-wheel drive Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD).
2018-2019 Acura has not yet released technical specifications, however, company representatives said that MDX version with all-wheel drive SH-AWD in the test at the Nürburgring ahead of the previous generation model for 8 seconds. As for fuel economy, the new MDX consumption is 11.2 liters in the combined cycle for versions with all-wheel drive and 10.2 liters for the front-wheel modification.
2018-2019 Acura MDX will go on sale in the summer of , prices will be announced closer to the release date.
