The German company confirmed its intention to release a new 7-seat crossover .
In his speech at a recent presentation in Michigan is one of the top VW manager Frank Fischer said that the plant in Tennessee is already preparing to start production of the new model. He also noted that the company is considering, as an alternative, and another company located in the city of Puebla (Mexico).
The final decision about where will be crossover, will be made by the end of this year.
Fischer did not want to share any significant information about future innovations, however, he said that his team is working ‘in emergency mode’. It is reported that the car will be built on the MQB platform branded (to be expected), which also form the basis of the next-generation Passat.
On models time to market is not yet known.
