2018-2019 Maserati CEO Harald Wester said their future crossover Levante will not use the platform of the Jeep the Grand Cherokee .
In an interview with CNN Money Vester refuted information about Levante close family relationship with the Grand Cherokee, despite the words of the head of the Fiat, previously hinted that the connection between the two models will be so great that they will be carried out in the neighborhood for Jeep plant in Detroit.
However, such an outcome could be expected earlier, when Fiat signed an agreement with Uilm National assembly of Levante in the Mirafiori plant in Turin (Italy).
The result suggests a new variant – the crossover will use a modified chassis / units Quattroporte and the Ghibli, and in the range of engines is likely to go down 3-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 410 hp (550 Nm) and 3.8-liter twin-turbo the V8, which develops 530 hp (710 Nm).
Also Levante can get a 3-liter V6 turbodiesel, giving out 275 hp and 600 Nm of torque.
Regardless of the engine, all the units will be connected to the 8-band automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system.
