Head of 2018-2019 Lamborghini Stephan Winkelmann reiterated that the future Urus crossover will be equipped with an exclusive 4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.
The first turbo brand will get only crossover, but the Huracan and Aventador should not expect this modification.
In his interview with Autocar Winkelmann said that they discussed the possibility of using twin-turbo in other models, but it was decided to abandon the idea because it violates one of the firm postulates – “one machine – one engine”.
“As for our supercars, we remain confident that atmospheric engines – the right choice.”
Nevertheless, CEO Lambo noted that in the future they can issue sports cars with turbocharged units, but the V10 and V12 variants will remain a priority as long as the “does not appear that any better.”
Specifications 4-liter installation is kept secret.
Earlier, the head of research and development Maurizio Redzhiani said that the twin-turbo V8 promises to be “the most powerful in the class” and “best choice” for Urus, thanks to its low weight and good traction at low revs.
Home sales 2018-2019 Lamborghini Urus is scheduled for 2018.
