According to the head of 2018-2019 Jaguar Land Rover Ralph Shpet, future crossover C-X17 from “2018-2019 Jaguar” should not be called an SUV because of the pronounced sporting character models.
“The 2018-2019 Jaguar SUV – this is not possible […] These SUVs – a Land Rover, and the 2018-2019 Jaguar – road-oriented product and such terms [SUV] to it are not applicable.”
To date, C-X17 prototype stage passes the road test , and the debut of the production version is expected in . Crossover design will be carried out in the spirit of the eponymous concept .
The original model was positioned as “sports crossover”, but the company promised to come up with a more appropriate title at launch C-X17 in the series.
By the way, the problem of terminology for high sports models met earlier and from other manufacturers. In particular, BMW calls its crossovers Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV).
